In Florida, have fun and run
FLORIDA — Spend the day outdoors on Sunday, Aug. 13, taking part in the pleasure of community and friendship at the 20th Annual Fun Fest and 10th Annual Run Fest in the Village of Florida.
The day begins with the Fun Fest 5K/10K Race — a loop beginning and ending at Glenmere Lake. Start time is 8 a.m. Runners and/or walkers of any age may enter. Cheering spectators are welcome, too. Pre-registration is preferred. However, you may also register on site at the race.
Beginning at 1 p.m., enjoy food, rides for children, and vendors showcasing their crafts, clothing, jewelry, etc. Stroll Main Street and the area by S.S. Seward Institute and explore the many sights and sounds that make this day so memorable each year. Pick up a copy of our Fun Fest Journal for a map of the event and to see photos from previous years.
Musical entertainers add their special touch to the day — rock, country, pop/alternative, and polka. DJ "Nat the Cat" will be on hand as MC for the Fun Fest.
To register for the 5K/10K or to obtain more information on Fun Fest, including the lineup of performers for the day, visit http://floridafamilyfunfest.org.
