Illinois bell choir to perform for Monroe congregation
Monroe - The Allegro Bells of Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle, Ill., will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monroe. The Allegro Bells is a group comprised of 50 high school aged youth who use four sets of instruments, under the direction of Amy Moeller. Since 1992, the Allegro Bells have performed summer concerts throughout the United States and Canada. This year they will include the Metro Region of New York City, Orange and Westchester counties and Long Island. “This is a special opportunity to hear an outstanding group of musicians and the magnificent sound of so many bells,” said Rev. Dr. Dwayne Mau, pastor of St. Paul. The members of Allegro meet every Sunday morning during the school year for breakfast, practice and fellowship. Trinity Lutheran Church also has a 70 member bell choir who are in middle school. The community is invited to attend this special musical event. A special invitation is being sent to other bell choirs in the area, as well.
