Newburgh - The Hudson Valley Showcase, with 13,000 square feet of eclectic antiques, art and crafts, will host an open house this Sunday, Nov. 5, from 3 to 5 p.m. The open house will include free refreshments, door prizes, raffles and a fashion show presented by DeCarlo Designs, one of the Showcase’s unique shops. Additional shops participating in Sunday’s event include Antique to Unique, Antyqr, Brid’s Closet, Broadway Café, Katalana Gifts and Kollectibles, La Musica Latina, The Owl and The Serpent and The Scent Shop. Showcase owner and antiques dealer Gordon Rauer chose the location for his business because he believes in the Newburgh renaissance. “Newburgh is clearly turning the corner,” Rauer said. “With the acclaimed waterfront focusing attention on the city, the history, culture, architecture and diversity are being more fully appreciated. It is only a matter of time until the once designated “All American City” is recognized again.” The Hudson Valley Showcase, located at 280 Broadway near 9W, is open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (6 p.m. Friday and Saturday), with private parking for 200 cars behind the building.
