Monroe — Museum Village has hung the wreaths, readied the carolers, and lit up the windows with candlelight, in preparation for the “Holidays in the Village Celebration” from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 and from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. Warm yourself by the fire or ward off the winter chill with a candlelight tour through the village’s many buildings, each decorated for the season. Get some holiday shopping done at the Village Shop where handmade gifts are available, made by the museum’s potters and broommakers. Try your hand at printing a letter on the 19th century press, or dye your own stocking. Visit the Playhouse and enjoy the songs of Sacred Heart’s Children’s Choir and the Warwick Middle School Carolers, as well as performances by Joanne’s Dance Studio. See the Museum’s unique collection of sleighs, including Governor George Clinton’s purported inaugural sleigh. (He was governor from 1777-1795 and 1801-1804 and U.S. Vice President from 1805-1812.) A racing sleigh, a cradle sleigh, and a winter hearse are also among this collection. Advance tickets are available online with up to 30 percent off the door price. Visit www.museumvillage.org. Admission at the door is $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and children. Children 4 and under are free.
