Goshen — Parents Run AMOC (Autism Move-A-Thon of Orange County) and the Mental Health Association in Orange County will host their first annual holiday breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame. The event begins at 10 a.m. and continues throughout the day until 3 p.m. Breakfast will be served from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Parents Run AMOC is a group of volunteers bringing awareness to the community about autism, a neurological disorder. The goal is both to integrate children with autism into the community and bring about understanding about the disorder that is now estimated to affect one in every 166 births in our country. Breakfast costs $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12 if you preregister by Nov. 28. At the door the cost is $10 and $5. There will be festive music, face painting and games. There also will be a dreidel expert to teach the children how to play the dreidel game. Guests should also bring their cameras. Santa will be making a special appearance. If you would rather have a more formal picture, pose your family in front of the museum’s classic Currier and Ives sleigh. The Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame is located at 240 Main St. in Goshen. For more information, contact Anne Klingner at MHA at 294-7411 or log onto www.mhaorangeny.com.
