Hoboken International Film Festival returns to Greenwood Lake, beginning May 18
GREENWOOD LAKE — Greenwood Lake will once again host the Hoboken International Film Festival, starting on May 18 at the Thomas Morahan Waterfront Park.
The festival promises to bring Oscar-like glitz and glamour to the Village of Greenwood Lake, according to the festival’s website.
The festival’s awards gala, which will be on May 24, will be hosted by stand-up comedian Gilbert Gottfried, who is famous for voicing Iago in the film, "Aladdin," as well as being a Saturday Night Live alum.
He will be there as Academy Award-winner Louis Gossett Jr. receives the festival’s lifetime achievement award for acting. Gossett is most notable for his work in the 80s, including "An Officer and Gentleman," for which he won an Oscar and Golden Globe, as well as in "Roots," which earned him a Primetime Emmy.
The festival will also be the location of multiple non-studio film premiers, including "The Dancer," a short film co-starring Warwick native Bettina Skye.
The festival is holding multiple competitions for free tickets and passes in the lead up to the event on its website: HobokenInternationalFilmFestival.com.
