Historical Society's raffle tickets available this weekend for Aug. 27 ‘Tent Party'

    WARWICK-Warwick's Sidewalk Sale on July 9 and 10 will be the first opportunity to buy tickets for six items to be given away at the Warwick Historical Society's "Pride and Preservation Under the Tent Party" on Saturday, Aug. 27. This year's selection of raffle prizes include four special gifts from Warwick businesses and two art items, one of which will have special attraction for admirers of Warwick's local artists of the 20th century. The watercolors of the late Edith Vail were much-collected and a framed picture of one of her favorite subjects n the Old School Baptist Church n will be raffled at the Under the Tent Party. The other collectable item is a pressed glass ensemble in the Rose ‘n' Snow pattern. The prizes donated by Warwick businesses are a $100 gift certificate from Port of Call, Main Street; a two-weeknight stay at the Peach Grove Inn on Route 17A; dinner for two with wine at the Landmark Inn, Route 94; and a gift basket from Newhard's - The Home Source, Main Street. Raffle tickets are $2, or three for $5. Those with the lucky tickets do not have to be present at the party to win. After the Sidewalk Sale, raffle tickets will be available at Newhard's, Peck's Wine & Spirits on Bank Street, and at the gift shop in the Historical Society's 1810 House on Main Street when the house is open for tours Tuesday and Saturday afternoons.
