Historical society to hold penny social

Chester — The Chester Historical Society is having its annual penny social on Friday, Sept. 9, at the senior center beneath the Chester Public Library at 1784 King's Highway, next to the Town Hall. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and calling begins at 7 p.m. The $2 admission includes refreshments and 25 chance tickets along with a chance at the door prize. "Many lovely prizes and door prizes are for the winning!" says Norma Stoddard, society president.
