Hiking exhibit to open April 6

The Neversink Valley Are Museum’s 2008 temporary exhibit will feature the work of conceptual artists Darren Jones and Ryan Roa, who last year walked the length of the Delaware and Hudson Canal, a path of 108 miles from Honesdale, Pennsylvania, to Kingston, New York, to create an exhibit which will include their map, pages from their diary, photographs, and artifacts they found during their trek. “We thought of the route of the canal as a drawing across the landscape, a map that we could connect along the way with the artifacts we found and the discoveries we made. The local population and their own relationships to the canal were of great interest to us and we met many wonderful people along the way who helped to enrich our story,” they wrote, describing the reasons for their journey. The exhibit opens Tuesday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. For additional information, call 754-8870 or nvam@frontiernet.net.
