Goshen — The Harness Racing Museum invites everyone, whatever nationality, to be Irish on Sunday, March 11, beginning with a children’s workshop at 10:30 a.m. where kids will decorate flower pots and plant the traditional “Bells of Ireland” seeds. Afterwards, participants will make a special hat to show off at Goshen’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, meet a real horse, Puffin, a pony from the Emerald Isle, and, after that, take a ride, driving a racehorse in a 3-D harness racing simulator. The cost is $5 a child with one free admission for the accompanying adult. There’s lots for moms, dads, grans and gramps, big brothers and sisters, not forgetting aunts and uncles, to do too, with half-price regular admission all day. Museum docents will be available to show visitors around the many interactive exhibits. Hot tea and Irish soda bread will be available for all arriving before noon. The Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame is located at 240 Main St. in Goshen.
