Goshen — Herbalist, publisher, and author, Susun Weed, will come to town for two informative sessions on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Harmony Farm, 144 Broadlea Road, Goshen. She wrote her first book, “Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year” — now in its 29th printing — in 1985, and published it as the first title of Ash Tree Publishing in 1986. It was followed by “Healing Wise” (1989), “New Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way” (1992; revised 2002), and “Breast Cancer? Breast Health! The Wise Woman Way” (1996). Meet and speak with the author, directly. Weed is an acclaimed speaker who has been teaching about medicinal plants and wise woman healing since 1965, as well as training hundreds of apprentices from all around the world. This event is part of an ongoing series of lectures through World Womb, whose purpose is to enrich our community through creating mindfulness about nature and nurture. World Womb seeks to connect holistic practitioners and vendors with those interested in learning and experiencing more. The scenic hillside retreat at Harmony Farm is serving as host for the lecture series. Recently featured in Tables magazine, Harmony Farm is a Community Supported Agriculture Farm, where members get together to create delicious produce as a community. Join in for a morning walk, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and an afternoon talk, from 2 to 5 p.m., to learn about healing naturally and the weeds in your own backyard that you can count on. Cost is $25 for one session, $35 for all day. Call 845-820-0774 or log on to www.worldwomb.com.
