Warwick —Warwick Grove, a neighborhood community for active adults, will hold its First Annual Warwick “Village Life” Art Competition, as part of a two-day event celebrating Warwick Grove’s second anniversary. Artists are invited to submit work — in any medium — that reflects the interrelationship of people and place within the historic village of Warwick. For example, subject matter could include sharing conversation with a friend at an outdoor café; reading the morning newspaper in Railroad Park; friends enjoying a pint of beer in a local pub; shoppers milling about on Main Street; a little league baseball game; a parade; or the interaction of shopkeepers. The competition will be a juried show, and the sponsor will purchase up to three pieces of art to begin its art collection focusing on village life. Judging criteria includes: • How well the artwork portrays how living in a small village positively impacts one’s quality of life • Composition • Execution The show will be judged by a jury drawn from the Hudson Valley art community. Art will be on exhibit at the Warwick Grove Neighborhood Center from June 16 to July 16. Winners will be announced on Saturday, June 16, at 7 p.m., at a reception held at the center. An outdoor concert will be held during this time, and is open and free to the public. Warwick Grove is located in the town of Warwick.
