GREENWOOD LAKE — The Greenwood Lake Public Library will be presenting two programs which demonstrate how to save money as well as improve quality of life.
On Saturday, March 2, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Theresa Grimm from A Cook in My Kitchen (www.ACookInMyKitchen.com) will present “Cooking for One on a Budget.”
Grimm will prepare four delicious meals using one rotisserie chicken and a few low cost items. In doing so, she will teach patrons how to “break the monotony” of having the same meal every night, presenting a diverse list of meals for one, including Asian Stir Fry, Fajitas, Pot Pie and Chicken Salad.
Then on Saturday, March 16, from 1 to 2 p.m., “The Secret of Houseplants” will be presented by Master Gardeners with the Cornell University Cooperative Extension.
Plants are a lovely addition to any home and so very good for indoor air quality. Jim Scharfenberger and Jody Donnelly will be in the library to give some tips on how to take care of them.
They share their knowledge on the kind of light houseplants need as well as which soil, fertilizer and temperature will keep them healthy.
Cornell Cooperative Extension and its partnerships provide programs for Orange County residents on youth and family development; nutrition, health, and food safety; community and economic vitality; and agricultural sustainability through Cornell based research.
Register for this or any of the library’s upcoming adult programs online at www.gwllibrary.org, by phone at 845-477-8377 ext. 101 or in person at the front desk.
