Greenwood Lake 'Fake at the Lake' music festival set for May 18
The Greenwood Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Greenwood Lake present the first annual "Fake at the Lake" Music Festival.
FakeFest will take place on Saturday, May 18, at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park in Greenwood Lake.
The festival will have live performances from local band "Whiskey RIOT," followed by a Rolling Stones tribute performance by "Sha-Doobie," an all out Arena Rock 80's experience from "Lost Angeles," then a Led Zeppelin tribute performed by "The Prezence," and closed out by "I Don't Know - An Ozzy Osbourne Tribute."
The festival will feature local restaurants, artists and crafters with food concession, beer trucks, vendor booths and many outdoor adult activities.
Admission is $30 day of, but advanced tickets are available at a discounted fee of $25 online through the GWL Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
They also are available for purchase at The Irish Whisper Public House, Emerald Point Marina & Restaurant, Greenwood Lake Bagels, Lakeside Hair Salon & Boutique and Greenwood Lake Coffee Roasters.
Event is rain or shine, tent provided. This event is not kid or pet friendly. No animals are allowed. Guests must be 18 to enter, 21 to drink. Must have ID. Free event shuttles will be provided from CVS/Irish Whisper to the beach and back every 15 minutes.
There will be no entry for boats or jet skis via lakefront.
Current sponsors are Vertical Environmental Solutions, Bucks Landscaping Plus, LeapTransport, Irish Whisper Public House, Sublime Vision, Crevina Landscaping, Colombia Bank, with many more still coming in.
"This festival is one of many that the GWL Chamber and the Village are developing to keep a continuous flow of visitors and tourist coming to the village now, and for years to come," Greenwood Lake Chamber of Commerce president Christopher Carey said in the press release detailing FakeFest. "As captured by the recent successful Winter Carnival Festival with an attendance of over 5,000 people, our future is extremely promising for fun activities, entertainment, and commerce within the village."
