GOSHEN — Plans are progressing for the 27 Great American Weekend, to be held July 5 and 6 in Goshen’s Village Square. “Great American Weekend was started back in 1982 to keep people coming to Goshen during the races,” explains GAW committee member Mary Gray-Griffith. “We were thrilled with Marc’s design and it will look terrific on the tee shirts and the new tote bags we will be selling.” Various financial packages are available to show support of the event and gain valuable exposure for the donor. Levels include: Business Card, $75; Wall of Fame, $150; Bronze, $300; Silver, $600; Gold, $1250; and Platinum, $2750. The event will feature more than 150 arts and crafts vendors and local merchants; antiques; food by community non-profits; live continuous entertainment on the monument stage, the Goshen Rotary 5K and 10 K Race on July 5); harness racing at Goshen Historic Track; children’s rides; a “free” climbing wall courtesy of U.S. Army; hayrides with “Goshen in Bloom” and other activities. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine.
