Grammy winner Lawrence Feldman to perform with Ellen Kaye
SLATE HILL — Grammy Award-winning woodwind player Lawrence Feldman returns to his Hudson Valley roots for the first of two local performances with Ellen Kaye from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 12, at the Slate Hill Bar and Grill, 2920 US Route 6, Slate Hill.
Kaye will perform three sets of sizzling blues, rock, and jazz with Feldman on sax, clarinet and flute. Ethan Fein leads the band as musical director, playing on guitar and banjo with Bob Renino on bass.

Lawrence FeldmanFeldman's first gig was at the Pine Lodge in Monticello, N.Y. Most recently he has performed with and recorded on Elvis Costello's album "Look Now" and Bob Mintzer Big Band’s album "Meeting of Minds."
Lawrence is a two-time Grammy winner for his work with Steely Dan and the Bob Mintzer Big Band. He's performed on the soundtracks for "Going in Style" (2017) and "The Cotton Club" (1984). He has performed at Radio City Music Hall with Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, toured with Barbra Streisand, Linda Ronstadt and has been recording with many major artists of all genres since the 1970s. He plays alto, tenor, baritone, and soprano sax; clarinet, bass clarinet, flute, alto flute, bass flute, recorder, and in one failed attempt, the ocarina.
Ellen KayeOrange County resident Ellen Kaye was born into show business at her parents’ Russian Tea Room. She began her career as a nightclub singer at the original Monkey Bar and has performed in places as varied as Town Hall, Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops Orchestra, the Metropolitan Room, Iridium Jazz Club and La Mama E.T.C. She co-produced a music and film series at the Paramount Theater in Middletown, and has been regularly appearing at local venues since 2016.
Ethan FeinMusical director Ethan Fein is a co-founder of LiveIt!LIVE and has played guitar in concerts with Kristin Chenoweth, Bernadette Peters, Marvin Hamlisch, Cy Coleman, and Carole King, to name a few. He has performed on Broadway in "42nd Street," "West Side Story," "The Full Monty," and "Cats" for its entire run. He spent many years performing at weddings and bar mitzvahs with Lester Lanin, Peter Duchin, Steven Scott, and many other dance bands.
Bob ReninoAfter playing at resorts, hotels, and clubs, bassist Bob Renino began playing Broadway shows both as a substitute and a regular player. He has played in nearly 50 musicals in Broadway theaters and has held the "chair" in some hits such as "Ragtime," "The Producers," and most recently "Honeymoon in Vegas." He performs with the New York Pops Orchestra. He has also played on popular TV shows like "Good Morning America," "Regis and Kelly," and David Letterman. He is married to singer/actress Sally Mayes.
