Goshen plans a Halloween parade
Goshen Goshen residents of all ages are invited to show off their costumes at a parade to be held on Sunday, Oct. 30. The parade will start at 12:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Goshen. Participants should arrive at 12:15 p.m. The route will be a loop of about one mile through the village, ending back at the church. Immediately following the parade, at approximately 1:30 p.m., there will be a community party at Craigville Park, where everything is free. Highlights of the event are hay rides to the pumpkin patch, a pumpkin for each child, an inflatable bounce, a balloon artist (from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.), tattoos, face painting, arts and crafts, free drinks, hot dogs, cotton candy and donuts, and goody bags. The town police will offer fingerprinting of children for safety identification, and McGruff the Dog will give kids a safety talk. The event is being coordinated by the Goshen Recreation and Parks Commission with funding or donations from the Orange County Youth Bureau, the Town of Goshen Police Department, the First Presbyterian Church of Goshen, the Goshen Professional Business Women, and the Village of Goshen Police Department.
