Golf and dinner to raise money for 1st Lt. Lou Allen's family

Tuxedo The third annual Louis E. Allen Memorial Golf Outing and Dinner will be held on Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Wallkill Golf Course. The Tuxedo Teachers’ Association is holding this fundraiser for the family of a Tuxedo teacher and Chester native, 1st Lt. Lou Allen, who was killed in June 2005 while on duty in Iraq. Allen left behind his wife, Barbara, and four young sons. The golf outing will include giveaways and raffle prizes, including a 50-50 raffle to sporting events. This year a full barbecue lunch has been added for the entire golf portion. A buffet dinner, with special presentations and golf awards, will follow at 6 p.m. It is not necessary to attend the golf outing to attend the buffet. The rest of the schedule is as follows: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., arrival and check-in; barbecue lunch with drinks from noon to 5 p.m.; the start of golf at 1 p.m. Locker room and shower facilities will be available at the golf course. The event will be held rain or shine. The cost is $160 per person for golf and dinner, $65 per person for dinner only.
