Give a brick as a gift' and help a good cause

Warwick Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center launched a capital campaign in 2000 called the Pathway of Hopes-Building Campaign. The pathways will be set in various areas on the property. The garden path will be a place for disabled riders, friends, and families to enjoy the garden of five-senses. The pathway will be made of stone, which is symbolic of longevity. Local companies have donated an enormous amount of time and material to Winslow to help start the paths and gardens. Rick Miller, owner of Sophisticated Lawns & Landscape Designs, is currently preparing the grounds at Winslow with help from Concrete Concept, Eastern Concrete Materials, Earth-Tech Associates Inc, Warwick Foundation, Grasso Materials, Lanc & Tully Engineering, Leyland Alliance, Teacher Nancy Colgan, FFA, Warwick Valley High School Landscape Class, master gardeners from Cornell Cooperative Extension, CK Trucking and Scandic media. Purchasing a stone for the pathway is a memorable way to contribute to Winslow’s rider’s future. Every donor to the Pathway of Hopes-Building Campaign will be given recognition, unless the gift is anonymous. The campaign also offers many ways to recognize specific memorial or commemorative contributions. Dedication bricks provide a permanent tribute for a loved one, a beloved horse, yourself, family, business, volunteer organization or just a special saying or quote. The funds of this project will support therapeutic riding for children and adults with special needs, the cost of feeding and care for the horses, and maintaining Winslow’s facility to provide services to those in need. Purchasing a stone is not the only way to help with the project; Winslow has a wish list of what is needed. Winslow is still in need of: peat moss; cow manure; top soil; annuals; perennials; any plant addressing the five senses; ornamental grasses-all sizes; flowering trees; plaques may be purchased to be placed in front of the trees; bushes and shrubs; landscapers to assist in laying out the gardens; ceiling fan with light for the outdoor gazebo; climbing vines for arbor; decorative stones; ground cover; Miracle Grow; miracid; and someone to build walls throughout the gardens. The community’s help will give these handicapped individuals an opportunity to grow. Winslow is very excited to reflect on the past twenty-five years, but is even more thrilled as they look forward to the new dreams and goals that are set before them.
