Gershwin for the Brave benefit concert Saturday

SUGAR LOAF — Great music all for a great cause. Come out Saturday, April 13, to the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center as the Greater New York Wind Symphony presents a concert to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the Committee for the Families of War Veterans.
The Greater New York Wind Symphony has selected three concert works from the prolific pen of beloved American composer George Gershwin for the night's special program. After opening with his "An American in Paris," soprano Tamara Mesic and baritone Erich Tusch will be invited to the stage to sing selections from "Porgy and Bess."
After intermission, The Greater New York Wind Symphony will collaborate with longtime friend and guest artist, James Rensink, in a performance of "Concerto in F."
Tickets for the night are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $8 for students.
A special VIP reception begins at 6 p.m. VIP tickets are $75 and include premium orchestra seating and drinks and hors d'oevres before and after the concert with some special guests including New York Yankee great Mickey Rivers, the symphony conductor, special guest artists and symphony musicians.
