Garden tour planned for Middletown area
Middletown The Garden Lovers’ Club will hold its 11th Annual Hidden Gardens Tour, a self-guided tour of some of the finest gardens in Middletown and the surrounding area on Saturday, June 23. The tour features eight beautiful gardens from Middletown, northward through Howells in the Town of Wallkill. Tickets will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mulberry House, 62-70 West Main Street, Middletown, on Saturday, June 23, at a cost of $15 for adults (under 16 years free). Tour hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. The tour will include a plant sale on the veranda of Morrison Mansion, SUNY Orange, 115 South Street, Middletown, NY, beginning at 9 a.m. until sold out, and will also be accompanied by refreshments and a drawing for gifts. “The Hidden Gardens Tour is our club’s primary fundraiser,” stated Faye Schuerholz, co-president of the Garden Lovers’ Club, “and its profits underwrite scholarships, Civic Beautification and Garden Therapy programs designed to enable those in adult care facilities to enjoy the love of gardening. For everyone who attends, it’s a wonderful day out viewing beautiful, colorful works-of art.” Organized in 1924, the Garden Lovers’ Club is a member of the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc.
