Tuxedo Park - St. Mary’s-in-Tuxedo will sponsor a “Family Garden Party” featuring young musicians performing works for violin, cello, viola and piano on Sunday afternoon, June 3, to raise funds for the CARRYOU Ministry, an organization that supports families affected by AIDS and HIV in South Africa. The party will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the home of the Myers-Elkins family on Circuit Road in Tuxedo Park. Refreshments will be served. Ticket prices are $25 per person or $75 per family. All checks should be made payable to St. Mary’s-in-Tuxedo, c/o CARRYOU. St. Mary’s has been supporting CARRYOU for the last five years. Donations have enabled food to be distributed; hygiene and AIDS education to be taught; school uniforms, shoes and books to be bought for orphans; caregivers to be trained and paid stipends for their work; “drop-in centers” established to provide the children with meals, counseling and practical assistance; and bicycles to be supplied to transport the caregivers to their patients.
