Full-Armor Christian band to perform at St. Stephen's church

Free concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 WarwickFull Armor, a Christian band of young adults from Orange County will be performing St. Stephen’s Church in Warwick this Sunday evening at 7:30. The concert is free and the community is warmly invited. Ranging in age from 14 to 19, these teenagerstwo from Warwick, two from Otisville, and one from Middletownare inspired by contemporary Christian artists such as Casting Crowns, Michael W. Smith, and Chris Rice. And, while they perform some of the music written by their favorite artists, they also write their own stirring songs. Douglas Q. Hutchings, 19, formed the band in 2005. He plays keyboards, sings and writes many of the group’s original songs. Kyle Hancharick, 16, of Warwick, also provides vocals, acoustic guitar accompaniment and writes some of the band’s original songs. Tara Lakeman, 16, of Otisville, provides vocals as well. Gus Morales, 16, of Middletown, plays electric lead guitar. Finally, Matthew Juliano, 14, of Warwick, is the newest member of the group on drums. Hancharick and Juliano are members of St. Stephen’s and also belong to the church’s folk band. Full Armor released its first CD in January, The collection of original songs will be on sale Sunday for $12. For a preview, the group will also provide music at the 10:30 mass on Sunday morning.
