Middletown — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County will be holding free Weatherization and Energy Savings Workshops, spotlighting no-cost/low-cost tips to help lower fuel bills. Extension Educator Stefanie Hubert will be presenting the two-hour programs. “The higher fuel costs this winter have come as a shock to a lot of people,” said Hubert. “But there are many simple, effective things you can do that will result in saving money while keeping your home cozy. We’re going to cover some important, basic ‘weatherization’ techniques - and every participant will leave with their own Energy Savings Tool Kit to get started.” The Weatherization and Energy Saving Workshops are scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. or 6 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. All workshops will be held at Cornell Cooperative Extension’s office at 1 Ashley Avenue, Middletown. These workshops are free, but pre-registration is required. Call 845-344-1234 for sign-up and more information.
