Free seminar on common hand problems and available treatments

Middletown —Orange Regional Medical Center will host a free seminar “Common Hand Problems: Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention” at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Community Health Education Center in Middletown. Ronald Israelski, M.D., board-certified hand and orthopedic surgeon, will discuss hand problems as well as complex traumatic and arthritic conditions. Carpal tunnel syndrome, the most common hand problem in the United States, was cited as the leading cause of workplace absenteeism due to injury in 2005, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Orange Regional’s Bone and Joint Center, affiliated with the prestigious New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, provides a range of orthopedic care from hand surgery to knee and hip replacement to advanced therapies and treatments. Israelski is the chairman of Orange Regional Medical Center’s Orthopedic Department and the medical director of The Bone and Joint Center. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases. Israelski received his medical degree from the New York Medical College and completed a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency through New York Medical College.
