Free music and Smart Growth' info at Warwick Valley Winery on Sept. 1
Warwick - Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery will host the Smart Growth Alliance’s free “Info Jam” on Friday Sept. 1., from 7 to 11 p.m. The Smart Growth Alliance is a group of concerned citizens trying to preserve the natural beauty and open spaces of Warwick. Friday’s event is intended to entertain and educate residents about the Community Preservation Fund and the upcoming vote on the real estate transfer fee. The purpose of the Community Preservation Fund is to continue to fund PDR which has already preserved 2,200 acres of open space. According to information provided by the winery, the “Info Jam” allows all those interested in preserving the town of Warwick’s natural beauty and unique landscapes to join together, to have fun, to discuss and learn about the Community Preservation Fund and distinguish fact from “spin.” Musicians from the Warwick area have donated their time and effort to this event. The evening’s lineup is slated to be Kyle Hancharick, Paul Siegel, the Holmgren Brothers, Mike Baglione and Suzy Arnowitz, Loretta Hagen and McMule. The Winery will have its award-winning wines, ciders and brandies available for purchase by the glass or bottle, with a portion of all sales going to the Community Preservation Fund. Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery is located at 114 Little York Road. Doors open at 7 p.m. The event is free, but the SGA is requesting donations at the door.
