Fourteenth annual Ladies Night Out scheduled for Aug. 25
WARWICK The Downtown Warwick Merchants 14th anniversary of the traditional celebration of “Ladies Night Out” and “Queen for a Day” may be even more spectacular than previous years. This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday evening, Aug, 25, from 4 to 9 p.m. “Queen for a Day,” said Event Chair Tim Mullally, “is an opportunity for a special lady to be recognized by her family and friends for her generous spirit, caring heart and selfless nature.” The winner, who will be crowned by Mayor Michael Newhard in Railroad Green Park, will receive a generous basket overflowing with gifts provided by local businesses. During Ladies Night Out, Downtown Warwick buzzes with activity and excitement. Everyone is invited although the ladies, in particular, can expect to indulge themselves with specials, refreshments and treats offered by participating merchants. Railroad Green will be hosting several activities such as a women’s self defense demonstration by Chosun Tae Kwon Do Academy, pole dancing and Zumba Dance Fitness. In addition to the many specialty boutique stores in Warwick, there are also outside street vendors set up right on the sidewalks selling gifts, goods and services. The focus is on women’s health, fitness, beauty and fashion. Many of the merchants will also be hosting special events. “Whether strolling through stores offering extended shopping hours, tasting the flavors of the fine restaurants, dancing or simply relaxing at one of Warwick’s many outdoor cafes,” said Mullally, “Ladies Night Out is a night to join with friends and family for an evening of summer fun.” Anyone interested in participating in the 14th annual “Ladies Night Out” as a vendor should contact Mullally at 845-986-6996.
