Folk from the British Isles at Bodles

    Chester — Acoustic Folk Showcase, with Dave Connelly, Steve Lane and Krista Sansky, will perform folk music that reflects the styles of these three very different singer-songwriters. Connelly’s music is folk-rock with a Celtic feel. Sansky does contemporary folk with an edge, while Lane adds a country rhythm Their performance begins at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11, at Bodles Opera House in Chester. Admission is $10. More folk from the British Isles will be performed by the Old Blind Dogs, a quartet that specializes in traditional Scots music. The band members play a variety of instruments — bouzouki, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, border pipes, and whistles. They were the 2004 Band of the Year at the Scots Traditional Music Awards in Edinburgh. The’ve been touring and performing all over the world since 1990 The Old Blind Dogs will play Bodles starting at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 12. Admission for this performance is $20.
