Folk Festival & Family Fun Day rescheduled
Rock Tavern The Family Fun Day & Folk Festival, which was scheduled for Saturday, June 3, but cancelled due to inclement weather, has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 10. The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at 9 Vance Lane in Rock Tavern. The Free Kids Carnival was designed with families in mind. Free carnival games with prizes, play areas, craft activities, relay races, balloon tosses, and other competitions, will keep the children engaged all day. There is even a spot for the little ones in the shade, with toddler toys and a sandbox in easy view of the stage. At the Folk Music Contest, over a dozen artists will provide music on stage from noon to 5 p.m. Each act will have a 20-minute set to perform their best compositions, which will be evaluated by a panel of judges. Auctions will run all day, with a first place door prize of a Tour of the Hudson River for two. A Silent Services Auction will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering an array of services from music lessons, dance classes, gym memberships, massages, to catering and cleaning services. A Live Goods and Services Auction will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Bids will start low. A food concession will offer with an assortment of drinks and international foods, along with the hotdogs, cotton candy and popcorn for the kid in everyone. Admission is $5 for adults, and children under 12 are free. Proceeds will benefit the “Raise the Roof Fund.” Guests are asked to bring canned goods to benefit the Hudson Valley Food Bank.
