Frazzleberries furnishings and gift shop at 24 Main Street will welcome famed folk-artist Billy Jacobs who will be hosting his ninth annual Trunk Show and signing from 12 to 5 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2 and 3.

Jacobs’ art will be eligible for an exclusive discount and he will personally autograph all purchases made during the show.

Jacobs, who is from Navarre, Ohio, is best known for his extensive collection of watercolor landscape paintings depicting scenes of farms and homesteads throughout the American heartland.

His work was recently featured on a segment of the popular “American Pickers” TV show airing on the History Channel.

Jacobs has enjoyed a long-standing friendship with Frazzleberries’ founder Marybeth Schlichting, herself a self-taught folk artist and painter.

In 2009, after nearly 20 years of professional acquaintance, Schlichting suggested that Jacobs visit the Warwick area, where he was instantly inspired by the area’s beautiful farms and nineteenth century architecture.

He spent a considerable amount of time during that visit and subsequent visits, taking photographs that he would later transform into rich watercolors from his Ohio studio. Beginning in 2010, Jacobs would release a series of works that feature iconic Warwick homesteads such as the Buckbee and Fox Run farms in Bellvale, Hurd Farm on Jessup Road and Settler’s Farm on Wheeler Road.

“For over a decade, Billy has been at the forefront of American folk-art. His landscape paintings have an almost universal appeal to the small town in each of us,” said Frazzleberries General Manager and partner Jerry Schlichting. “We are honored that Billy has found the Warwick Valley so inspiring and we know how inspired our customers are by his work. And we get a kick out of seeing images of Wawick farms and homesteads on display in other stores and homes throughout the country.”
