FLORIDA — On Saturday, June 2, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., the Friends of the Florida Public Library and the FPL Board of Trustees are hosting the fifth annual Spring Tea at the Seward Senior Center next to the library.
The traditional tea for adults and teens (over age 16) will feature a plentiful array of savory finger sandwiches, fine cakes and treats.
Gather your friends and come enjoy a little bit of English elegance with cozy four-seat tables set with antique china and linens while supporting the Florida Public Library.
There are a limited number of tickets available now for $20 each. Tickets can be purchased at the library. Payment must be made at time of reservation.
All refreshments will be freshly made by Kate Misciagna of Katie Cooks Catering and Janet Picarelli of Janet’s Quality Baked Goods.
Gluten-free desserts will be made by Down 2 Earth Market.
There will be numerous prize baskets and gift certificates to take a chance on.
Some of prize baskets sponsors are ShopRite of Warwick and Chester, Northern Bear, Moonstone Melody and New Beginnings Spa.
A prize for the best hat will be awarded, so fancy dress is welcome, although not required.
Barbara Vaughn, a Master Gardener for Cornell Cooperative Extension, will give a short flower arranging demonstration. One lucky attendee will win her floral creation.
No time for tea? Get in the spirit now and visit the library to donate $1 for your very own individual tea bag in a pretty, petite envelope imprinted with a memorable quote from a favorite book.
A selection of antique tea cups, linens and fine embroidery will be featured in the library's showcase.
