FLORIDA — The Florida Public Library will hold its fourth annual Holocaust Remembrance Day on Sunday, April 28, by screening the movie “Sarah’s Key,” based on the best-selling novel by Tatiana de Rosnay.

The book and the film tell the story of one of the darkest moments in French history. In 1942, French police rounded up more than 10,000 Jews and took them to a stadium in Paris, the Vel d’Hiv, where they were confined for five days and eventually sent to German concentration camps. As 10-year old Sarah and her family are being arrested, she hides her little brother in a locked wardrobe. Is she able to return in time to unlock the wardrobe and release him?

Flash forward to 2009 when journalist Julia Jarmond makes a life-changing discovery linking herself to Sarah. During her research about the long-forgotten Vel’ d’Hiv roundup, Julia finds that her husband’s family had moved into the same apartment in Paris after the roundup.
