Finale at The Playhouse at Museum Village will be a thriller

    Monroe - Creative Theatre-Muddy Water Players will culminate its 11th season at The Playhouse at Museum Village on Sunday, Nov. 5, by convening its annual general meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by a performance of the acclaimed thriller, “The Woman in Black,” at 8 p.m. An additional performance of the play will be presented on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 8 p.m. Susan Hill’s “The Woman in Black” is a spine-tingling thriller about a lawyer who hires an actor to help him recount a troubling event that transpired when he attended the funeral of an elderly recluse. There he caught sight of the woman in black, a specter who haunts the neighborhood. The town’s long-held belief is that anyone who sees her will soon die. The production is under the direction of Cynthia Topps. General admission is $10, $5 for 2006 subscribers and free to the company’s paid membership. The Playhouse is located on Route 17M in Monroe. The company’s annual meeting on Nov. 5 will consist of a brief review of the past season, announcement of the 2007 season and the election of the Board of Directors.
