Field trip takes in Hudson Valley landmarks

    NEWBURGH — Mount Saint Mary College’s LIFE (Learning Is Forever Enriching) program is sponsoring a trip to three Hudson Valley landmarks on Thursday, Jan. 10. The day’s destinations include the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site at Val-Kill, the Culinary Institute of America, and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt home. Participants will tour Val-Kill in the morning, and in the afternoon have lunch at the Culinary Institute of America and tour the FDR house and library. Education specialist Jeffrey Urbin will give a lecture on Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. The bus will leave the Mount’s Desmond Campus in Newburgh at 9 a.m. and will return about 5 p.m. The cost is $90. To register, call the LIFE program at 565-2076. LIFE offers a variety of enrichment classes for those 55 and over. Day trips are open to people of all ages.
