MONROE-Creative Theater Muddy Water Players will hold its sixth annual Festival of New Plays at the Playhouse at Museum Village this weekend. The Festival, to be held on Oct. 15, 16, and 17, showcases new one- and two-act plays written by playwrights from around the country and performed as staged readings. Friday and Sunday will showcase a selection of one-act plays. Saturday's performance is a two-act play by local playwright Phil Hilden. The Festival provides the audience a chance to talk to the director, actors, and playwright in a question-and-answer session following each play. Refreshments will be served. Admission is $5 per evening. The Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m., and the Sunday performance at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door. The program is sponsored in part by a grant from Orange County Arts. For more information, call 294-9465.
