Fall happenings at Smith's Clove Park

Park’s events calendar ends with a “Boo,” a “Bang” and a “Ho Ho Ho” Monroe “Scary Halloween:” An evening of music, story telling and strange happenings. (For ages 10 to 15 ) 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 27. Fall Festival: Children paint pumpkins and enjoy a leisurely ride on a hay wagon. (For toddlers up to 9 years) 1 p.m. Oct. 28. “Hudson Valley Paranormal Investigations” team will provide a lecture on their experiences with the hauntings in the area at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 7. “Battle of the Bands:” A competition for local youth bands to showcase their talent. at 7:30, Nov. 11. “Turkey Trot:” a 5K Run/Walk starting and finishing in Smith’s Clove Park. 9 a.m. on Nov. 24. “Kids’ Sale:” A first-time event. An opportunity for kids to gather in one place to sell or trade “like-new” toys and sporting equipment. Adults can pick-up some great bargains before the holidays from 1 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 1. “Tree Lightning Event:” Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season for all. Caroling will take place by the park’s front entrance and immediately followed by a visit at the meeting hall from a jolly old guest. 6 p.m. on Dec. 2. “Holiday Bake.” A first-time event. A craft day for toddlers, ages 2 to 5. There will be two sessions where you and your little one can bake cookies or make a gift for grandma or a friend at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Dec. 19.
