Experts to give talks on the uses of herbs

    Chester — To celebrate National Herb Day, at least five local herbalists will give talks from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 14, at Subtle Energies Holistic Health Center, located in the Lake Station Plaza at 136 Kings Highway, between Warwick and Sugar Loaf. This free event will feature Marguerite Dunne (WTBQ’s Urban Herbalist), Alicia Frosini (Sugar Loaf Mountain Herbs), Karen Thomas, Ferdinand Bruno, and Joan Good. Topics will include “Cooking with Lavender,” “Native American Use of Herbs,” “Detoxification and Weight Loss,” “Herbal Home Remedies,” and “A Walk Through Your Herb Garden.” Tents will be set up on the lawn. Participants may attend for part or all of the day, and will have a chance to meet and learn from practicing herbalists. There is no need to register.
