Experience the Mantovani Orchestra on its last U.S. tour
Sugar Loaf They say all good things must come to an end, and this may be the last time that the Mantovani Orchestra will be making an appearance here in Orange County. The orchestra will be touring in Europe only next year, but there will be one more opportunity to hear its cascading melodies. Kings Theatre Company presents “Christmas with the Mantovani Orchestra and Chorus” at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, at the Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts in Sugar Loaf. Mantovani’s Christmas concerts are rich in the variety of their offerings including dramatic ballet selections by Tchaikovsky; devotional music with “Ave Maria;” humorous acts with “March of the Toys;” and traditional music. The Mantovani “sound” has been recorded on countless albums which have sold over 35 million copies in a period of 20 years. Formally attired, the 43-member ensemble plays to audiences everywhere. Tickets are $36 for adults and $27 for youth (18 years and younger) and can be purchased by calling the Lycian Centre Box Office at 469-2287 Tuesday through Saturday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. For more information visit www.lyciancentre.com.
