GOSHEN-The Middletown Community Bell Choir, formed last year in response to the growing interest in English handbells, will give a performance at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Historic 1841 Court House, located at 101 Main St. in Goshen. Ellouise Raffo will explain handbells performance and history, and allow visitors to ring with the choir in a "hands on" demonstration. The choir will perform a range of music, from show tunes to classical music. The choir includes 12 ringers, with Donald Felkins as director. Members are from Middletown, Walden, Goshen, and Monticello. Beginning ringers as well as accomplished musicians are welcome to join the choir. Ted Sly, Orange County Historian, is sponsoring the program, which is free and open to the public. Coffee will be served at 9:30 a.m. Children are welcome. For more information call 291-2388.
