CHESTER-The Town of Chester Police Benevolent Association will hold its sixth annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 26, starting at 11 a.m. at the Chester Commons Park off Laroe Road, next to the Town of Chester Highway Department. Officer Bob Ferrara, PBA treasurer, started the event six years ago. Attendance has risen from 200 people to over 1,200 last year, coming not only from Chester but surrounding towns and villages as well as neighboring states. Local officials often participate, working the tables and even acting as Easter Bunny. The event in the past has received generous donations of candy from Chester and Monroe businesses such as Shoprite, Lycian Center, Rite-Aid, and Wal-Mart. According to Police Chief Brian Jarvis, no child leaves the hunt empty-handed.
