Ecumenical Council hosts ‘Lenten Lunches' on Wednesdays

    Warwick - The Warwick Valley Ecumenical Council is be sponsoring its annual series of “Lenten Lunches,” to be held on Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. at the Warwick United Methodist Church on Forester Avenue. The lunches will include a meal and a devotional time. The cost is $6 per person and the community is cordially invited. The theme for the program will be “The Paths and Places of the Passion” according to the Gospel of St. John. The dates, speakers and menu are: • Feb. 28, St. John 12:12: On the way to Jerusalem. Pastor David Peterson, Warwick Assembly of God. Menu will include roast pork. • March 7. St. John 13:2: The upper room. The Rev. Ken Susskraut, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Menu will include baked chicken. • March 14. St. John 18:1: Gethsemane. Father J. Scott Barker, Christ Episcopal Church. Menu will include naked ziti. • March 23. St. John 18:12, 24, 28: The Trials of Jesus. The Rev. Don Heatley, Vision Church, Warwick. Menu will include roast turkey. • March 28. St. John 19:17,41: Crucifixion and burial.
