Earth Day celebration at museum

Cornwall-on-Hudson —On Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum is holding its Earth Day Weekend Celebration at the Museum’s Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Participants can learn about Green Living, and what they can do at home in their own backyards to reduce carbon emissions, conserve resources, and protect habitats and wildlife. Participating in the celebration will be the “Young Naturalist” four-year old pre-K classes. These children will be singing songs for Earth Day on Saturday, April 19 at 11:30 a.m. This weekend of earthly activities is sponsored by Taylor Recycling and is designed to teach the public how to protect the planet. Participants can make crafts from recycled products, take a guided trail hike and explore the biodiversity of the earth by visiting live animals. Earth Day Celebration exhibits include: Organic Gardening and Composting, Landscaping with Native Plants, Resource Conservation, and Energy Alternatives. Sportsplex will sponsor Tote Bag Craft for kids on Saturday and Toad Abode Craft for kids on Sunday. The Dierdre Imus Foundation will provide sample-cleaning products.
