‘Don Quixote' to be performed April 19 and 20

The Warwick Ballet Theatre (WBT) will perform the ballet, “Don Quixote” on Saturday, April 19, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 20 at 2 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in Middletown. This classically choreographed, full- length ballet is set to the music of Ludwig Minkus. Set in a Spanish setting, the ballet tells the story of two young lovers, Kitri and Basilio, and that of Don Quixote’s adventures as he journeys in search of Dulcinea, his visionary love. Warwick Ballet Theatre is the official company of the Dancer’s Studio of Warwick. This ballet includes more that 60 of the studio’s most talented students, along with the WBT company and guest artists from various ballet companies. The lead roles are played by WBT’s principal dancers including Alison Dripchak, Justine Jacobsen, Jillian Conjura, and Arianna Henry. The production is choreographed and staged by director Lucinda Henry, with Melissa Padham, who is an instructor at the studio as well as a WBT alumnus and company member of the ‘Darrah Carr Dance’ and ‘Forces of Nature Dance Theatre.’ Tickets may be reserved by calling the Paramount box office at 346-4195.
