Dinner to honor Special Victims Unit and Buttiglieri brothers
Newburgh Safe Homes’ annual “Celebration of Hope” Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at The Gardens on Catlin Creek in Slate Hill. An annual fundraising event, the dinner honor individuals in the local community whose actions have made a difference in the lives of those living with domestic violence. The Hope Award will be presented to Orange County District Attorney’s Special Victims Unit, in tribute of their work on behalf of survivors of domestic violence and their families. The Mildred Warren Good-Neighbor Award will be presented to Sal and Peter Buttiglieri of Painter’s Tavern in Cornwall-on-Hudson, who have used their restaurant to help raise tens-of-thousands of dollars for Safe Homes. Safe Homes works toward eliminating domestic violence by offering comprehensive support services to survivors, and by increasing public awareness through education and prevention programs. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Safe Homes’ programs and services for individuals and families affected and displaced by domestic violence. Tickets are $75 per person.
