Warwick - Continuing with its tradition of bringing new works to Warwick, the student actors and stage crew of the Warwick Valley High School Drama Club are thrilled to present for the first time the wildly funny comedy, “Dearly Departed.” “Dearly Departed” follows the story of the Turpins, a dysfunctional Southern family who must come together after the death of the family’s patriarch, Ray-Bud, His death brings the family together, at least physically, for his funeral, and the rest of the show is spent watching all the fun getting Bud into the grave. From the moment of Bud’s death right on through his burial in the “Gentleman Farmer” coffin, “Dearly Departed” makes it clear that there’s more to living and dying, and that comfort can be found in a good old fashioned corn dog. Both funny and poignant at the same time, audience members might just see themselves or their own families in the Turpins. “Dearly Departed” will be presented three times in November. A special sneak preview will be performed on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m., and then again on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 general admission and $5 for senior citizens and children ten and under. For this production, the Drama Club’s box office will not be in operation. Instead, tickets will be sold on the nights of the performances, starting one hour before the curtain. Tickets for all performances will be available each night for advance purchase. Residents are urged to arrive early to purchase their tickets. Information regarding this production can be obtained by calling the Drama Club’s box office at 987-3050, voice mail box #4100.
