ROCK TAVERN — Even in difficult times, art shows that light can emerge from dark in a way that creates beauty. And that is the theme – Dark Into Light – of the 2017-18 gallery exhibit at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern.
The gallery, in the congregation’s Sanctuary at 9 Vance Road in the New Windsor hamlet of Rock Tavern, will have its grand opening Friday, Oct. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. It is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
“Artists are able to combine these opposites in a way that makes for beauty. We are drawn to that beauty which both stirs us and gives us peace,” said gallery curator Roberta Green. “Join us and invite your friends.”
The new exhibit features pen and ink drawings of graphic artist Jamie Capach, painter and collage artist Billie Robson and photographers Casey Purtell and Jay Beaumont.
