Monroe — The Patrick M. D’Aliso Foundation will hold its first annual Golf outing on Monday, June 26, at the Golf Club at Mansion Ridge in Monroe. The golf outing will include lunch, a four-man scramble with shot gun start at 1 p.m., a formal dinner from 6 to 8 p.m., a silent and a live auction, raffles, and goody bags. There are still opportunities for hole and corporate sponsorships. The fee is $185 per golfer, $50 for the dinner alone, and $150 per hole for sponsorship. Payment can be sent to: Patrick M. D’Aliso Golf Outing, P.O. Box 2232, Monroe NY 10950. The foundation was established in honor of former Monroe-Woodbury wrestler Patrick M. D’Aliso. The son of long-time Monroe-Woodbury football coach Pat D’Aliso, he was an honor roll student and class treasurer before his death in May 2004, at the age of 16. The goal of the foundation is to honor young men who have successfully competed on the athletic field, in the classroom and in society, with the highest level of deportment. Two scholarships are available each year to graduating senior wrestlers, one from Monroe-Woodbury High School, and the other from a school in Section IX of New York State (the 2006 winner was Greg Brain of Minisink Valley). The foundation also provides financial support to accredited suicide awareness and prevention programs that are focused on assisting teenagers, and has started a support group, Survivors of Suicide in Orange County. The foundation chairmen are Tom Kennedy and Patrick D’Aliso Sr., and Kristi D’Aliso is treasurer. For more information, write to pdalisofoundation@yahoo.com.
