Goshen — Rosemarie Werkman of Monroe, Poet Laureate of Orange County, is inviting students from the fourth, fifth and sixth grades to join her at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Court House in Goshen. Werkman said she has great respect and love for children and, from her experience in classrooms, finds their poetry “soul-searching, honest and endearing.” Werkman will be speaking to the young people about their poetry and will be sharing some of her own. She is the author of “Love, War and Remembrance,” a memoir that speaks of growing up in Smalltown USA during World War II in her case, Washingtonville. Werkman’s book of poetry and ruminations, “P.S. I Love You,” will be published this season.
