Cornerstone meets milestone, gains not-for-profit status

    Workshops and auditions for paid acting positions begin Jan. 7 Goshen — It's official: Cornerstone Arts Alliance has just been confirmed as a not-for-profit arts organization. Cornerstone is housed at The Goshen Music Hall, located at 223 Main St. in Goshen. All performance and technical positions are paid. Open auditions for actors age 18 and up will be held on Jan. 21 and 28. Auditions are for the company, not a particular role or show. Auditioners should prepare two contrasting monologues no longer than two minutes each. Audition workshops for actors age 16 and up will be held from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. on Jan 7 and 14. The cost is $35. Attend either session or both. This is not a mandatory workshop for open auditions but is designed for actors looking to approach any audition more confidently. Five plays will be produced in 2012 according to the following dates: Saturday and Sunday matinees in February as weather permits March 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 June 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 July 14, 15, 21, 22 (Shakespeare in Salesian Park) Oct. 27, 28, Nov. 2, 3, 4, 9 and 10 For more information call Ken Tschan, director, at 294-4188.
