Concert in the Park to raise money for homeless animals

Goshen The Goshen Humane Society will hold its Concert in the Park fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, on the lawn of the First Presbyterian Church in the center of the village. The concert will be held under a huge tent, rain or shine. New this year is a performance at noon by Macaroni the Clown, who will do a magic show and other fun stuff for kids. Also new is a poker run for motorcyclists. Other highlights include a performance by the Cover-Up Band from 1 to 5:30 p.m., face painting, and a tie-dye booth, where participants can make their own tie-dyed T-shirts. Hot dogs and hamburgers, soda and water and other snacks will be available for sale. The humane society hopes to have Tommy Lee Walker, the DJ from country station WRWD, doing a live broadcast right from the concert. Volunteers are needed to do some grilling, sell 50/50 raffle tickets, and help with other tasks. Vendors are also needed. For more information, call 294-9101.
